Bridge # 14-61-33 Bowsher Ford covered bridge is situated two miles northwest of Tangier, Parke County, Indiana. It was built in 1915, by Eugene Britton, using a single span Burr Arch construction, with a span of 72 feet and crossing Mill Creek.
Bridge # 14-61-29 The Mill Creek Covered Bridge also known as Thompson's Ford Covered Bridge, Tow Path Covered Bridge, or Earl Ray Covered Bridge crosses Wabash Mill Creek southwest of Tangier, Indiana. It is a single span Burr arch truss covered bridge structure that was built by D. M. Brown in 1907. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.
Bridge # 14-61-27 West Union Bridge is the work of the prolific Indiana covered bridge builder Joseph J. Daniels (1826-1916) and is an excellent example of his use and development of the Burr Arch Truss. At 315' from portal to portal, the double-span bridge is the longest covered bridge in Parke County, a county known for its numerous covered bridges of considerable length. J.J Daniels built the bridge in 1876 to replace the previous bridge (also of his design and construction) crossing Sugar Creek, which was destroyed by high water. Daniels built nearly sixty covered bridges in Indiana between 1855 and ca. 1900. The West Union Bridge represents a later Burr Arch Truss design.
