When I left the hotel in Kayenta, snow was falling, the roads were slippery. My only plan was to drive the Monument Valley Loop. Well, it turned out that this was pretty much the only adventure I didn't get to experience.
Agathla Peak - or El Capitan in spanish - near Kayenta, Arizona
Agathla Peak (Navajo: Aghaałą́, Spanish: El Capitan) is a peak south of Monument Valley, Arizona, which rises over 1500 feet (457 meters) above the surrounding terrain. It is 7 miles (11 km) north of Kayenta and is visible from U.S. Route 163. And after taking this picture, my shoes carried about 20 gallons of mud. Yuck.
