The summit area Mjóafjarðarheiði of the mountain pass on route 953, the Mjóafjarðarvegur, at an elevation of 578 meters. There are three little ponds and beautiful views over the Mjóifjörður fjord in the Eastern Region of Iceland.
The little Slenja creek waterfall can be seen from route 953 right at the border between the regions Mjóafjarðarheiði and Mjóafjarðarhreppur in Eastern Region of Iceland and the area belongs to the Fjarðabyggð municipality. The big mountain is called Slenjufjall.
