Seljalandsfoss waterfall along Iceland’s southern coast is fed by melting water from the famed glacier- capped Eyjafjallajokull volcano. This powerful waterfall cascades into a pretty meadow. However, the path that runs behind the curtain of water is the main attraction. There you can enjoy a truly unique viewpoint of the waterfall.
The Gljúfurárfoss, or Gljúfrabúi waterfall is located around 800 meters away from is more prominent neighbor, Seljalandsfoss. It is partially obscured by its own slot canyon. The Gljúfurá River tumbles down from over 60 meters. Its source is just north of Tröllagil (Troll Gorge) Canyon in the heath Hamragarðaheiði.
