Usagi Shrine at Tenjo-Yama Park
This ropeway can be ridden from the shores of Lake Kawaguchi. Mt. Tenjo is said to be where the Japanese folktale, “Kachi-kachi Yama,” took place, hence the name of the ropeway. The ropeway takes three minutes to reach the top, 1,075 meters above sea level. From there, visitors can get a panoramic view of Lake Kawaguchi and Mt. Fuji and, on clear days, even the Japanese Southern Alps.

"Source" - The symbol sculpture of Kawaguchiko
This bronze statue is one of last masterpieces of Japan’s great sculptor, the late Seibo Kitamura. The vase portion of the sculpture represents Lake Kawaguchi, source of life in all things. As for the two female figures dancing around the vase, the woman to the left represents “positive” and the woman to the right represents “negative”; the eternally varying drama of these two opposites comes together to become one in “source”, flowing to on to symbolize the never ending occurrence and renewal of life.
